Akaroa is a quaint little town on the Banks Peninsula south-east of Christchurch. It was the only French settlement in New Zealand and retains its French Heritage with its street names, cafes and cottages. Trekking up and down steep little streets and alleys is rewarded by Akaroa’s visual treasures.

How interesting, an insight into NZ via haiku! I am doing an A-Z of animals in poetry, my ‘k’ animal is a New Zealand, endemic creature! ~Liz http://www.lizbrownleepoet.com
