Some things you might want to know about me…

My name is . . .  Caenys Kerr and I may or may not have several aliases.

I grew up . . . around Queensland – Clermont, Brisbane, Rosewood, Rockhampton, with five sisters.  Although I have lived outside that State for the past forty years (in Canberra, New Zealand, New South Wales, Victoria and most recently back to New South Wales,) I am still a Queenslander at heart.

I’m married . . . to David and have been for 45 years. We have raised two children to adulthood, so now we have them, their partners and our grandson to complete our immediate family.

I can’t live without . . . books. I read eclectically and write contemporary romance, both mild and spicy, poetry and pre-teen stories on occasion. I’m also finding it hard to live without international travel. The anticipation makes the wait worthwhile.

I can live without . . . tripe, both kinds – the stuff that Mother expected us to eat when we were children; and the verbiage that some media portrays as informed commentary.

I’m usually hanging out . . . writing at my computer in my office or while I’m travelling on planes, trains and automobiles. We travel a lot! Or at least we did till recently. :/

My biggest dream growing up . . . was to be a doctor and I am – a PhD, not a medico.

I collect . . . miniature plates, ANZAC tins, Swarovski, and china salt and pepper sets.

My favorite Picture book . . . Animalia by Graeme Base

My favorite children’s novel . . . Pastures of the Blue Crane by Hesba Brinsmead

My favorite adult novels . . . Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, anything by Anna Campbell, Anne Gracie, Ian Rankin, Michael Connelly or Georgette Heyer.

My biggest secrets . . . Hmmm, my grandson says I am addicted to shopping. I don’t see that myself, but I bear in mind Robert Burns’ warning:

“O, wad some Power the giftie gie us
To see oursels as others see us!
It wad frae monie a blunder free us,
An’ foolish notion.”
